This Week's Trauma To The Head

Well, it's only Tuesday, so not that much has happened.  Yesterday my first class was canceled, to give us a rest.  I took care of some important things like emailing my advisor about a hold that was on my account, but technically shouldn't be there (she lifted it for twenty-four hours so I could register for classes this morning).  I also gained permission from the dean's office to miss convocation next semester for work, yay.  After lunch I had my Hour of Solitude, per Prof Corsini's instructions.  His assignment (instead of class) was to spend an hour alone with ourselves (no one else, we couldn't do anything (read, watch tv, listen to music).  We had to just be there, conscious (not asleep).  He dubbed it our time wrestling with our minds.  It wasn't too bad, but then I spend a lot of time talking to myself anyway.  I turned in my Saucy Project (book report) for THEO 202 last night; it was due tonight. I finished it earlier than I had anticipated.  I even got to go to LaHaye yesterday to work out which was something I wasn't sure I'd be able to do until Wednesday (after church).

I worked yesterday from 8am until like 3:30, with a small break in order to register for classes for next semester.  I missed my economics class, but it was for good reason.  The head 2yr old teacher at work had a dentist's appointment (root canal) today so she wasn't there.  The second teacher had to leave at 12:30 for a class.  She's in the process of getting her license to work in daycare.  I stayed longer to help the other worker out with the Halloween party which was after nap.  It was fun, and I love work, even when the kids act like demons.  The Lord has been teaching me a lot recently to be joyful in all circumstances, especially when children are misbehaving and making me frustrated.  Well, I do fail, but I try to be positive and kind (but firm) with these children at all times.  I actually have a problem of being too friendly, and they don't see me as an authority figure and disciplinarian.  But yay I'm registered for classes, well all but one.  I still need to add my Creative Writing class.  But I can't because I just took my CLEP for English Literature & it hasn't been added to my transcript yet.  I haven't met the pre-requisites (have but not put on my record) for the creative writing class.  I have to get the English Dean or Department Chair to sign a pre-req override form.  It's cool cuz the dean of English is Mark Harris.  I know his son through fictionpress (the site where all my stories & poems are).  I just think thats cool

Well after class I have to clean my fish tank.  My fish is having problems, I put him (Galan de la Noche, Lover of the Night) in a separate jar cuz I think my frogs were attacking it.  First though one of his eyes swoll up like it did back in April, but then it looked like he had a chunk missing from his chin (if a fish has a chin).  It'd be okay if I came back to find him floating at the top.  PetSmart has female Bettas, and I like them better.  I think they are smarter.  My brother taught my last fish a trick, which is kinda cool.  She'd jump out of the water everytime he went to feed her.  Anyway I like my frogs better.  I have Sapo (Toad, frog, or Little despicable man) and SinNombre (without name).  I can even tell the difference in them which is cool. Sapo is about a month or two older than SinNombre.  I also have to work on my Economics Written Report which is a book report Christian ethics in economics.  It's due Thursday.  I have another book report due Friday morning for Families Under Stress.  It's on Breaking the Cycle of Divorce.  It's a pretty good book, and I think it's helped me even though I'm not under the curse of divorce.

As for the weekend I might try to scrape up 70 dollars to go with my youth group on their fall retreat to a neighboring town of Lynchburg.  If I can't get the money then I'll prolly go with them hiking Saturday afternoon, which would still be fun.  I'm hoping my 8th grade science teacher (member of my church) will chaperone so I could interview her for my parent interview which is due this upcoming monday.  Well I gotta go. I hope no one wasted their time, the only purpose this served is to update ppl of why they haven't seen me lately and to help me think out my plans for the rest of the week.
