I finished it earlier than I had anticipated. I even got to go to LaHaye yesterday to work out which was something I wasn't sure I'd be able to do until Wednesday (after church).

I worked yesterday from 8am until like 3:30, with a small break in order to register for classes for next semester. I missed my economics class, but it was for good reason. The head 2yr old teacher at work had a dentist's appointment (root canal) today so she wasn't there. The second teacher had to leave at 12:30 for a class. She's in the process of getting her license to work in daycare. I stayed longer to help the other worker out with the Halloween party which was after nap. It was fun, and I love work, even when the kids act like demons. The Lord has been teaching me a lot recently to be joyful in all circumstances, especially when children are misbehaving and making me frustrated. Well, I do fail, but I try to be positive and kind (but firm) with these children at all times. I actually have a problem of being too friendly, and they don't see me as an authority figure and disciplinarian. But yay I'm registered for classes, well all but one. I still need to add my Creative Writing class. But I can't because I just took my CLEP for English Literature & it hasn't been added to my transcript yet. I haven't met the pre-requisites (have but not put on my record) for the creative writing class. I have to get the English Dean or Department Chair to sign a pre-req override form. It's cool cuz the dean of English is Mark Harris. I know his son through fictionpress (the site where all my stories & poems are). I just think thats cool

Well after class I have to clean my fish tank. My fish is having problems, I put him (Galan de la Noche, Lover of the Night) in a separate jar cuz I think my frogs were attacking it. First though one of his eyes swoll up like it did back in April, but then it looked like he had a chunk missing from his chin (if a fish has a chin). It'd be okay if I came back to find him floating at the top. PetSmart has female Bettas, and I like them better. I think they are smarter. My brother taught my last fish a trick, which is kinda cool. She'd jump out of the water everytime he went to feed her. Anyway I like my frogs better. I have Sapo (Toad, frog, or Little despicable man) and SinNombre (without name). I can even tell the difference in them which is cool. Sapo is about a month or two older than SinNombre. I also have to work on my Economics Written Report which is a book report Christian ethics in economics. It's due Thursday. I have another book report due Friday morning for Families Under Stress. It's on Breaking the Cycle of Divorce. It's a pretty good book, and I think it's helped me even though I'm not under the curse of divorce.

As for the weekend I might try to scrape up 70 dollars to go with my youth group on their fall retreat to a neighboring town of Lynchburg. If I can't get the money then I'll prolly go with them hiking Saturday afternoon, which would still be fun. I'm hoping my 8th grade science teacher (member of my church) will chaperone so I could interview her for my parent interview which is due this upcoming monday. Well I gotta go. I hope no one wasted their time, the only purpose this served is to update ppl of why they haven't seen me lately and to help me think out my plans for the rest of the week.

My head will explode in 10...9...8...7...

I have so much stuff to do. Well, it's not as bad as Sunday night when I had a CLEP exam, two theology tests, a FACS 475 midterm all this week and three book reports due next week--1 for theology, one for economics, and one for FACS 475. The next week I have an Economics Indicator Report and Parent Interview due as well as a FACS 370 test, and the week after that I have a research paper for FACS 370. All of this before going on my Thanksgiving break. I wish the teachers were selfless, and would allow us to work on these things over Thanksgiving, instead of wanting the extra time for themselves to grade such assignments. BUT nooo. Liberty professors can't humble themselves to help stressed students.

So I still love all my professors, even those stressing me the most. It will definitely teach me not to procrastinate as much. Next semester will be worse, especially if I find a second job like I want. I will definitely analyze these projects more and set up a timely schedule to complete them in. And maybe next semester my professor won't change the due date so many times so that my planner won't look so disheveled. Well, my CLEP & theology exams are over with. I think I got a 94ish on my theology 2 exam, not so sure about the theology 1 test. And I PASSED my English Literature CLEP, so I gained an extra 6 credits. YAY for me.

On another note, my foot is healing as is my ringworm. I don't know if I wrote that in my last message, but yeah I had ringworm. Discovered it the night before I had my warts removed. I work with children who aren't from the richest or even middle class families. We have problems with neglect, and lack of hygiene. After a full year of working there, this is the first time I've caught it. I kinda see it as a sign that I'm doing my job right, "loving on the children and giving them the affection they may or may not receive from home." It's being treated, and i'm not a leper, so don't avoid me.

Well I've got work to do so I'll leave you to do your work as well.

Holes and Warts

*Warning: Not for the Sensitive Stomach*

I am updating from the computer at home. Yesterday was quite an interesting day. I signed out from Liberty at 8am to go home for the weekend. I met for my 8:50 class at Panera Bread for an amazing bagel, coffee and relationship discussion. So that was definitely the best class out of the entire semester. After that I worked for almost two and a half hours. They definitely needed help. So our main teacher Mary has been out for a week and a half. She went to Texas for her vacation to visit her daughter & grandchildren. Hopefully she will be back Monday. But that left me, Kristina, & Kendra & Grandma. Needless to say it was a very stressful week for all of us. Yesterday, though, Kendra went to South Carolina to see her brother whom she hasn't seen in years. So that left me, Kristina & Grandma. We also had another teacher, Mrs. Porter come in to help. She normally teaches the 3 yr old class, but anyway we managed yesterday. I left work and drove straight home, or rather to my dad's shop so that he could change the inspection sticker on my car. My dad's a mechanic & hedefinitely is the best cuz he can always fix whatever wierd thing is wrong with my car. My mom met me at dad's shop, because both of us were going to Durham, NC for me to get looked at by a Podiatrist. Lovely things those are. I'm not sure if that was meant as sarcasm or not.

The reason for such visit was because I have (well had) two warts on the bottom of my right foot. One was kinda small, the other one was pretty big & was right on the ball of my foot, so it made it pretty painful to walk, especially since there are a lot of steps & hills to deal with at Liberty. Well, the doctor numbed up my foot & scooped them out, thus the title Holes & Warts. Where the warts are there are now two gross holes in the bottom of my foot. They are wrapped & still pretty numb. My foot is swollen & I still can't move a couple of my toes, but that's prolly expected. Well, so much for the running I was going to do at home. So much for my exercise plan for next week too. I'm gonna die without being able to run. Well, I can go lift weights at least. Well, I'm doing laundry and homework & mowing the yard today. Lovely fun stuff. One good thing (other than that if it works I won't have a wart there anymore) is I got out of doing the push-mow part of the yard, since I'm limping all over the place. I didn't want to push to begin with, but Mom was going to make me, now that I can't walk, I get to ride. YAY!!!! Anyway I hope I can be able to drive fine, since this is my right foot we're talking about.

One Month Down

So I've been at Liberty for a month now, and there are almost three whole months left. Only a month and I've already made a general schedule of my exam week. Okay well not general; it's a detailed hour by hour schedule that I did on Microsoft Excel. And it's color coded!! I've gone so far as to schedule in study time and eating. I also have church in the schedule and cleaning and packing. I've also already decided when I'm able to do my white glove check before I leave. Man, I need a life. Well, see I'm OCD, about grammar and about keeping an update detailed schedule, and a lot of other things. I understand that it is commonplace to leave out commas in emails and IMs and even here, but I can't resist the urge to be grammatically correct. People who had 9th grade English with me would call me Mrs. Ball, and strive to keep red pens out of my reach. It's a good thing I'm not teaching English, or I, too, would be said to "bleed" all over my students' papers. Anyway it can be a good thing since I write. It really annoys me--I've heard this from my friends as well--to read published books with horrible grammar and spelling errors. I'm the proof-er for a lot of people I know. I strive to keep my writing as error-free as possible.

My mom's ocd as well, but she swears I'm worse. Her reasoning is because I'm really picky on the way my clothes are folded. I have a lot of tank tops that I don't like to hang or rather can't because I don't have enough hangers. I fold them in half, then in half again, and in half once more. In the end I have eight tank tops folded the exact same way looking quite identical. I will then re-fold them if mom folds them differently. Also they have to be right side out and the first fold keeps the front on top. . .

So I wasted your time again. This is time you will never have to use ever again. Think about it, the minutes you have just spent to read this will never be available to you ever again. You are now two minutes or so closer to your death. You could have used this time for homework or studying for a test or reading an important announcement on the LU Splash page or whatever your school uses to give announcements. You could have been talking to a long lost friend or comforting a hurting room-mate. You could have been falling in love with the random guy or girl that you just ran into. You could have been witnessing to someone or I don't know, anything but reading Anna's random thought of the day. How does this make you feel? Depressed, mournful, upset at me for keeping you from more important things? If it is the latter, remember I never forced you to read this.

The main purpose of starting this entry was to talk about how ready I am for this semester to be over with. I also wish I could just skip the next twenty-four hours. First, I could skip hall-meeting. I wouldn't have to do my group project tomorrow morning; I could also forget about convo with Falwell. There would be no work or Parenting class. This time tomorrow I would be sitting in TRBC sanctuary listening to Ergun Caner preach Campus Church. I had a THEO I test yesterday, and I just took a THEO II test and quiz an hour ago. Why am I taking both THEO in the same semester? I want to get them out of the way as quickly as possible. I am so ready to be done with school forever. I told my mom earlier today that I don't have a problem with working eight hours a day; I'm just tired of working four hours a day and then going to class for another four hours.

If you chose to read to this point, you also have no life. Join the club. A person with a life would seriously have stopped reading during my spew about wasting your time. A person with a life would have realized, "hey, I have more important thigns to do. I can check my messages on Facebook or create a new group called 'Jerry is a Boo-Bah.' " If you wanted to create that group, I'm sorry. I've already done that. Since I know you have no life, you should join. People with a life really wouldn't find the statement all that funny because people with a life wouldn't know or care what a Boo-Bah is.

Back to Classes Again

I love being back at Liberty & getting to see my friends again. The first night I was back I watched a movie with 4 girls that were on my hall last year that are on leadership this year. It was a lot of fun. Amber (my old roomie) & I didn't pay much attention to the movie, but were talking and catching up & stuff. I definitely enjoyed that. I've spent a lot of time with the best sound-alike-name person every (Hannah). We've watched a few movies & talked a lot & went to Brookneal to visit her brother, sister-in-law, and niece. It was so much fun. Unfortunately classes started again today. The professor for my FACS 475 class is new, but he seems like he'll be a lot of fun. I'm kinda excited about that. I also have Parenting later today. That'll be interesting, I've heard a lot of good things about the professor. Oh. My roomie this year is a lot of fun. She's really sweet, and I'm glad God has put us together. Who would have thought that two lefties (lefthanded ppl) would end up randomly as room-mates. It's so awesomely cool. I've only met a few of my hall-mates & only just started getting to know one of my quadmates. Sarah is really cool even though she is from yankeyville (Conneticut). I'm starting to lose my prejudice against yankeys, but it will still take a while. Anyway I'm gonna go now and let whoever reads this get to some more important. Later

My Love For Writing

It's so weird that my writing even developed in the first place. I mean, I had never contemplated the thought of being an author my entire life. I always abhorred the idea of writing poetry. The only ones I wrote that ever turned out good were limericks and haikus and they're supposed to be pointless. I started out just writing in the little diary option of the beloved Oregon Trail game, that I think is intended for children much younger than I am, even though I got my grandpa addicted to the game as well. Either way, the diary only allows but so much room per entry, so I always ended up adding more after than. I'd make up different storylines, like A large family would travel across the country in groups, first the husband and oldest two children would cross and set things up for the rest, then a few more children would come several years later, then the last group. Young ladies always found love along the way. Then I randomly got the idea to write a sequel to one of the diary things. My writing just developed from there. In less than two and a half years I have 3 completed stories, the last one considerably longer and more detailed than the others, as well as three beginnings of more stories.

The story idea I did not touch on in my last entry was Corriendo (spanish for Running). It's about a young woman named Rachel who moves her six or seven year old son, Chris once more to a new town. This town is extremely small and in the middle of nowhere, which is why she likes it so much, seclusion. Rachel is white, but speaks with a Mexican accent, her son Chris is part Mexican, and the father assumed Mexican is nowhere to be seen. The story is kind of a mystery, romance kinda thing. It becomes Josh Something (the school principal)'s secret goal to discovery the mystery that is Rachel. I like the way that story has started out. Anyway if anyone who wastes their time to read this wants to read any of my stories, the link is located at my website link under my profile. I'm checkin out. Later

Man, it's been forever.

Okay, I did not realize how long it had been since I updated my xanga page. I know I hadn't updated any since I was at home, but I thought I had at least updated in May before leaving college. So my summer has been pretty boring. One week I was talked into teaching the 2&3 year old VBS (Vacation Bible School) class at my church. It wasn't too bad, I work with that age group during the year anyway. The week after that I puppy/house sitted for my grandparents. They went to Pennsylvannia with my Aunt Melinda, Uncle Jeff, and Ashley (my cousin). My other cousin Jonathan was left at home to watch their dozen chihuahuas, not really that many but there are a lot. My grandma only has one, Abby, she's precious and fun. Even though I was awa in Texas when she got her, I came up with the name, heehee. Although now it's confusing, because Abby is the name of my main character in Lily Among Thorns.

Oh well. That's one thing I was supposed to work on during my three month break. I did a little, but now that I have a week left of summer vacation, I've been cracking the whip on my writing. It's almost finished, I'm so happy. I only have one more chapter-the wedding, and then the epilogue to write, so hopefully I can get it done before classes start. I didn't get much work done on His Master Plan either. I've got a few chapters outlined, but I've been going back and revamping it and adding some other stuff. The most of my writing time has been on Paige Banning, a NYC dog groomer I created who gets involved with her bosses brother. It's not as bad as it sounds, her boss, Angie becomes her best friend as well as the bosses twin brother, Keith. It's starts out not all that Christian, but I'm planning on them all coming to Christ in the end. Paige has been through a lot in the past, family problems, guy problems, but she's always had her brother, Pat, to rely on. Now her brother is half a country away from her, and when Keith is put in a coma that the doctors aren't sure he'll ever come out of, she turns to her future mother-in-law who is a devout Christian. I haven't even written that part of the story yet, there are 60some pages before that ever happens. I may post it on fictionpress eventually, but I'm not sure. I've got some holes in it like always.

Anyway, also during my summer, one of my best friends took me out for my 19th birthday to see Pirates of the Carribean II, as well as to our small town's best mexican restaurant. I also learned how to play tennis with some of my friends who just graduated high school this June. The week after my birthday, I went up to Maryland to spend some time with a college buddy. She & her family had invited me to go to the beach with them, so after a day and a half in Maryland we left for Nags Head, NC. We were there a week, I burned the second day, and it was quite painful, but the week was still a lot of fun. We went back to Maryland & I stayed another two days before going home to good ol' Roxboro. When I got home, my brother & I switched rooms. He wanted the linoileum floor to play with his Bionicle action figures, because the table isn't big enough to hold his entire collection any more. That boy is crazy. Also, he wanted the full-size bed, that I was tired of. I like floor space, and with our small rooms, a full-size bed does not give me very much floor space.

Also I wanted to bring my granny's old chair into my room. They got my g-pa a new recliner for his birthday/father's day present, and in the process my favorite chair in the world was cast out of their decor. It's old and not all that pretty, but it rocks and turns in circles & the seat is wider than your normal recliners, so I love it. It's great to sit in with my laptop & type on my stories all day & night long. We chucked my brother's ancient disgusting bunk bed in the brush pile, & I currently have his mattress & am sleeping on the floor until we find something to replace it with like a fold-out sofa, futon or an actual bed. I like my new 'pad' as my brother calls it. It's cool and it feels homey. My mom already told me she's invading it when I go back to school. Dad wants it too, because I can get more channels than he can get in the living room. We live too far out for cable & we don't have the money for a dish, so we have an antenna that is about to fall off the house. It can only get ABC, PBS, CBS, NBC, & occasionally FOX. In my room with the little rabbit ears you get from wal-mart I can get all of those plus PAX (or I as it's now called) as well as WB.

Anyway just thought to update now. This is really long, my main reason was to talk about my stories, which I did except for one which I'm really excited about as well, but I'll save that for later.

Grrr

I am so tired right now. I don't know how I'm going to make it through the day. I did not go to sleep until 1:30. Whoa! I'm normally in bed around 10 because I have to get up at 6:30 every morning for class/work. Work is hectic and stressful so I need sleep. I am exhausted. Right now I'm trying to decide if it was worth it. I definitely think it was. My roomie & I had some quality bonding time last night. We have talked very much this past week & then I went hom Saturday and didn't come back till Sunday night. Reminder to myself:check tires when i go back to the dorm. I somehow got a stupid tip of a knife in my tire & the air leaked out. My dad & cousin plugged it, but I'm just a little worried about these things not working. This the first flat I've had in a year, so yay for me. In high school it was almost a regular occurance. 11th grade first semester I had a leak in my front right tire, that was patched. The following semester I somehow managed large gashes in both right tires. They had to be replaced. Then I think I lasted until the beginning of spring semester 12th grade & I had a leak in my front driver's side tire. That was patched but somehow (I can't remember) but we had to get two new tires later on before the summer. I hit a deer the wednesday before coming Liberty in August. A tire went flat after we got home, but I don't count that because there was so much other stuff that had to be fixed as well. Phew! I need a moment to catch my breath after all of those flat tires. Thankfully I've never had one to blow out while I was driving. Yay!! Well, that was random, all to remind myself to look at the darn thing.

Well, my roomie & I talked from like 11:30 (I should have been in bed then) for two hours about so many different things. We talked about iPODs and mp3 players for a while. She god an iPOD for christmas & just now got the chance to put all 700and some songs in it. I'm getting a toshiba mp3 player for easter/birthday (possibly, nothings for sure yet, but its what I really really want) Then we talked about daylight's savings time, followed by the Lord's Supper (communion), Pampered chef (because I was talking about using measuring cups), from there we had Scrapbooking, pictures, & travel. Whoa! Randomness, no other word can describe it. Well. this post is just as random. I will let whoever bothers to read this thing go now, because I've just wasted your time.

The Lord Answers Prayer!

I just ran back taking a Philosophy test. I ran because it is pouring down rain. It is so amazing to relearn that the Lord truly listens to us when we pray to him. The ground has been so parched lately. We're in this "drought," Lynchburg, all of southern Virginia, Roxboro, Durham and the rest of North Carolina as well. The news stories continue to tell of the dry winter we had and how we're now experiencing the effect of it all. Durham has had many forest fires, and Roxboro has even had one just two weeks ago. But the Lord listens to his children, and hears their prayers. It is raining, quite nicely. So many students here do nothing but complain when we have weather like this. If it was up to them, we would never have a cloudy sky or a rainy day, but the earth and everything on it would shrivel and die. Thanks be to the Lord who knows that it is better not to listen to those who pray selfishly, but instead he listens to those who see the needs of the earth, like He does, and He answers those prayers. I come from a land of farmers, so I understand all to well the need of a good rain during this time of the year. It is such a comfort to know and truly believe that God cares for us. If He cares enough about the grass and plants, think how much He cares for us, humans made in His image. It fills my heart with joy.

The one thing I hate about college

I believe there is only one thing that I completely and totally despise about being at college. It's not the school work; I was used to it in high school. It's not all that fun but I can deal with it. It's not the required convocation; sometimes I'm glad I'm there. It's definitely not the other students; the majority are such great people. I love my hall! The number one thing I cannot stand is the germs!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been sick 4 times in five months. Over Thanksgiving break I was told I had strep, though they weren't sure. It probably wasn't but either way I had a completely swollen throat & my ears were killing me. Then right after I returned to school from Christmas break I caught another illness, again a killer painful throat. Chloraseptic spray is my friend!! Then right before spring break I had some type of stomach virus that was going around. And now I have another sore throat all thanks to a hall-mate whose mom was sick during spring break. I don't blame the hall-mates I caught these from, but I wish these bugs would stop attacking me. No one can tell me I need to take more vitamin C. I have found this new addiction called DOLE Grapefruit Juice. It's amazing stuff. It has 200% Vit. C per bottle & I've been drinking like two a day. They're that good. I hope my throat is better by tomorrow, at least that I don't have a fever anymore so that I can work. If not I'll have to call in.
That's another thing, my fever. To most people it's not a fever; it's not even normal--98.1, but my normal is only 96.9-97.1 so that's really a big diff. My room-mate was trying to decide if I was really sick or just being polite, last night when we were in her car going to Hollywood Video. She had had the heat up & expected me to be hot and say something. I didn't b/c I really wasn't hot. I had on two shirts and a coat & I was comfy in the car. That's how sick I am. During my nap I actually slept with my fleece blanket over me. Generally I kick it off b/c I get that hot. Anyway I'm weird, & it's only when I'm sick that I'm remotely normal. This has been quite random so I will leave you now to find more important things to do.
